LME benchmark, monthly average published by the World Bank.
Wholesale market reference exchange rate calculated by the BCRA (Communication A 3500). It is the dollar used by companies and foreign trade: aluminium is priced in dollars.
Synthetic indicator of construction activity: it measures the use of building inputs. When it grows, demand for windows, façades and aluminium profiles grows.
Dollars per tonne, London Metal Exchange monthly average published by the World Bank. It is not a real-time price.

Base 100: each series equals 100 in the first month of the period and shows how much it rose or fell from there. It lets you compare trends in data with different units; the series are never added or multiplied.
The price of primary aluminium on the London Metal Exchange (LME). Its latest monthly average published by the World Bank is USD 3,061 per tonne (October 2026).
How is the international aluminium price set?
By supply and demand for ingot on the LME. On top of that benchmark, each region adds a premium for freight, taxes and availability.
What is the LME?
The London Metal Exchange, where aluminium, copper, zinc and other industrial metals are traded. Its cash price is the world benchmark.
Why is a profile’s price different from the international benchmark?
Because the benchmark is for ingot. A profile adds the regional premium, the alloy, extrusion, the finish, freight and taxes.
How does the dollar affect the Argentine market?
Aluminium is priced in dollars, so the exchange rate weighs on local costs. The BCRA wholesale dollar (Communication A 3500) closed at ARS 1,545.40 on 5 November 2026; the dashboard shows it separately and never multiplies it by the international price.
How is construction doing in Argentina?
INDEC’s ISAC showed −4.4% against the same month a year earlier in August 2026, and +0.8% year to date.
What does the ISAC measure?
INDEC’s Synthetic Indicator of Construction Activity measures activity through shipments of key inputs: cement, steel, bricks, paints and others.
What does the manufacturing IPI measure?
Manufacturing output, month by month: in August 2026 it changed −3.2% year on year. It has divisions such as basic metals, metal products and automotive.
Where can I check aluminium imports and exports?
In the dashboard’s Foreign trade section, from the official INDEC database: chapter 76 of the Mercosur nomenclature by month, heading and country. Confidential data is flagged, never estimated.
